Who are we?
We are Badger Mountain Bengals located in Tri Cities Washington. We are a small cattery keeping our cats as family and providing them with adequate time and attention providing them with all needs unique to both cats. We strive to provide healthy, well socialized, confident, loving kittens that will fit right into your home. Health is a big priority for us to ensure we are honoring this breeds heritage and providing quality kittens. Some ways we monitor the health of our cats include annual HCM (Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy) test to ensure the cardia health of our cats as well as ensuring we keep in touch with the original breeders of our king and queen to monitor the parents’ health records. The Wisdom Panel screen is done on our cats which looks at the cats individual DNA breakdown and a large variety of genetic conditions. While we take all preventative measures, HCM is a condition that typically does not present itself until later in a cat’s life which is why it is important that we continually test for this condition in our queen and king. This test is expensive per ultrasound requiring a cardiologist for the cat showing how important our cats health and wellbeing is to us.
Everyone has different things they look for when they are picking a car, shirt, or puppy. That is no different when it comes to kittens. Something we pride ourselves on is how friendly our Bengal kittens are. Bengals have a bad reputation for being antisocial, wild, and/or aggressive. Our cats are integrated into our home life and thrive on human interaction. At Badger Mountain Bengals, our kittens will be shown the example from their parents of healthy human interaction and contact and learn that trust is safe. Elderly, infants, rowdy toddlers, and working adults are a sampling of the variety of people our cats regularly interact with never having a problem. Anna and Sven started at our cattery as kittens, and this builds a very firm foundation of trust that that they can example to their kittens.
-Adoption Process-
Bengals are not your average house cat. Bengals require stimulation and companionship to be their best selves. As a breeder we will ask you some questions to ensure our kittens are a great fit and so we can suggest what kitten we think would be the best fit depending on individual lifestyles. It is not likely that we deem an owner to not be a good fit, but if that does arise, we reserve the right to decline the sale of any animal we do not believe would be safe in your care. Once someone has presented interest in a kitten they will be presented with regular photo and video updates so they can become acquainted with the animal. Delivery is available, charge differs depending on location. Kittens will come to you litter box trained, harness trained, and very well socialized to a variety of animals and people.
